Mass Maharaja Ravi
Teja’s ‘Balupu’ has released across the world today. The movie has been
directed by Gopichand Malineni and PVP Cinema banner has produced it. Ravi Teja
is banking heavily on the film as he has been going without a hit for sometime
now. Is he back? Has Shruti Haasan helped him in his quest? Let us check that
out.
Story:-
Prakash Raj is playing dual role, one is
mafia don in Vijayawda and other is well educated soft person in Hyderabad.
Anjali is daughter of Prakash Raj who rules Vijayawda and Shruthi is daughter
of his brother. Ravi Teja works for Prakash Raj and accidently he meets Anjali
then they eventually fall in love & plan to have a secret marriage.
Prakash Raj comes about this he stop
Ravi- Anjali marriage and takes her away from Ravi Teja to America. This leaves
Ravi Teja without any clue to know where Anjali is and only source to find her
is Shruthi Hassan who is her sister.
Without second thought Ravi Teja in
Hyderbad and tries to get close to Shrithi Hassan so that he can reach Anjali.
But on other hand Anjali goes missing and even Prakash Raj keeps looking for her,
here comes in Adivi Sesh brother of Anjali. Ashutosh Rana main villan into
picture then there will be sequence of twist and story revolves round where is
Anjali? What happened to her?
Ravi Teja – Gopichand Malineni’s last
outing Don Seenu went extremely well with the masses.
Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja had earned the
image of hero who gives minimum entertainment throughout the the movie. This
will be put to use in this film to a maximum extent.
Minus Points :-
The story of this movie is very simple and quite routine. The
main plot will seem quite familiar for Telugu viewers and the movie proceeds
along predictable lines.
The film loses pace in the second half
and some sequences seem unnecessarily dragged out. If not for an entertaining
climax block, the film would have suffered. The rivalry between the two warring
factions should have been elevated further.
The placement of the last song, ‘Pathikella Chinnadhi’,
could have been better. Ali’s comedy scenes appear
forced and do not really help the film. The romantic track between Ravi Teja
and Anjali is quite superficial.
Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, Supreet, Fish
Venkat and Adithya Menon are wasted in insignificant roles.
Cinematography is a mixed bag. The
songs have beautiful visuals but things are not so great when it comes to some
of the talkie sequences. Screenplay is good during the first half but it is not
upto the mark in the second half. Editing could have been better. Veligonda Srinivas’s dialogues
work well and some of them have ‘double meanings’. These will work well in B
and C Centers.
Thaman’s background score is effective.
Gopichand Malineni has succeeded in showcasing Ravi Teja well. He scores good marks as
a director with this movie.
Production values are good.
Opportunity :-
The expectations on the
movie from audience seem to be very low which will help the movie if it is up
to the minimum range.
The movie is releasing this Friday,
There is absolutely no competition what so ever at the box office and this will
prove to be a blessing in disguise. The movie is expected to get tremendous
opening in case the movie is good.
PVP cinemas are doing some excellent
promotion to the movie and they are trying to get the biggest possible release
for it.
